Seminars, Workshops and Educational Opportunities

The Sarah and Chaim Neuberger offers teaching workshops and seminars on how to teach the Holocaust in the classroom, open to educators and teacher candidates. For advanced training, we run biennial educator study tours.

DISCOVER IWITNESS: ONE VOICE AT A TIME

Register for our workshop at the Catholic Curriculum Corporation’s annual conference When Faith Meets Pedagogy. The conference takes place October 24-26, 2013.

The Neuberger’s workshop is scheduled for Friday, October 25, 3:00 – 4:15pm.

Take this opportunity to discover how to use IWitness in your classroom. Approximately 1,400 video testimonies of survivors and other witnesses to the Holocaust, multimedia activities and digital resources can be accessed free of charge through the USCShoah Foundation’s platform IWitness. Included in this valuable cache of recorded testimonies are those of Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Canada, many of whom are or were members of the Neubeger’s Survivor Speakers’ Bureau. Now, their testimonies are accessible in your classroom, when you need them.

This state-of-the-art learning platform engages students in active learning, helping them to gain a sense of their place in history and how words and deeds impact others. The testimony collection is searchable by over 9,000 keywords, enabling students to pinpoint exact moments of interest. The platform includes the IWitness video editor which provides learners with the freedom to integrate testimony clips with other source material thereby encouraging critical thinking and self-reflection. Help your students discover IWitness, one voice at a time.

Registration is open to all delegates to the When Faith Meets Pedagogy Conference.
